The mountains teach.
For my entire life, I’ve called New Hampshire home. My experiences in the White Mountains and my love of mountaineering literature have played a significant role in my education. Both have taught me important lessons about decision-making, leadership, risk-taking-and humility. My professional work in risk management has allowed me to put these lessons to use on an almost daily basis.
Several years ago, I decided to take things a step further by writing about real-life events that demonstrate the value of learning and heeding what the mountains have to teach us. It is my hope that these stories will help others assess and reflect on the experiences they themselves have had at home, at work, or in their own high places.
